Some big hitters on the PSN Store this week, including Alien Breed: Impact, an HD remake of the classic Amiga top-down shooter Alien Breed.
For fans of PSOne Classics, one of the defining games of the original PlayStation era, Tomb Raider, finally gets to the PSN Store for non-PlayStation Plus subscribers. Also new for non-PS+ subscribers is the R.U.S.E. demo, which was originally released last week for PS+.
There’s also a whole bunch of DLC, including some free outfits for Red Dead Redemption in addition to the usual suspects. All in all a pretty good update this week, with enough to keep most gamers happy for a long while. Check out the full list below: Read more
The top three of this week’s chart are exactly the same as last week, with FIFA 11 holding on to the top spot for the third week in a row. With some massive AAA games like Red Dead Redemption and God of War III being released this year, it’s easy to forget the impact that the FIFA series has on the charts, with FIFA games regularly hitting the top spot for several weeks at a time.
This week’s Top 10 sees FIFA 11 holding on to the top spot, while, with its release just five days away, Mafia II creeps up one place to number two. Reviews for Mafia II are just started to come out and it looks like it’s going to be getting some good solid review scores, though expect some criticism for the linear nature of the game and the finicky cover system.
It’s a bit of a mix around this week and FIFA 11 jumps right up to the top spot ahead of its 1st October release. Another high mover is Mafia II which, thanks to the release of a demo this week on PSN, has rocketed right up to number 3. With its release less than two weeks away, expect Mafia II to hang around the top ten for a while longer and, if early reviews are good enough, perhaps even take the top spot.
It’s another exciting week of content for FirstPlay viewers, with previews of some of the most anticipated forthcoming PS3 games.
Although the top two spots in this week’s Top 10 remain unchanged for about the fourth week in a row, jumping right up to number three is Gran Turismo 5, no doubt helped by the publicity this week for the Collector’s and Limited Edition versions, the full details of which have now been disclosed. Not only is the standard version sitting well at number three, the Collector’s Edition also makes its chart debut at number eight – no sign of the ultra special mega hyper limited version yet however, though the £150 price tag may be what’s putting people off for some reason.
We’ve received a big batch of new information from Black Bean Games today about their forthcoming rally game WRC World Rally Champtionship, which is the official game of the FIA World Rally Championship.
This week’s Top 10 PS3 games sees Modern Warfare 2 still holding onto the top spot, while Red Dead Redemption holds onto the number two spot for yet another week. Between them they must be racking up some series sales figures and will be earning a lot of money for their respective publishers.
