Heavy Rain to Support PlayStation Move

PS MoveHeavy Rain will support the forthcoming PlayStation Move motion controller due to be launched worldwide this Autumn, according to a Belgian computer game magazine. The magazine lists a number of existing PS3 games confirmed to use the Move controller and Heavy Rain is one of them. Among the others are LittleBigPlanet and EyePet, alongside a host of forthcoming dedicated Move games like Sports Champions and Motion Fighters.

Sony announced that PlayStation Move would be released in the Autumn rather than a Summer release at originally thought – although this will take out any headstart over the competing Xbox ‘Natal’ which is launching at the same time, the short delay should give Sony and other developers more time to bring out a hefty number of titles that will support Move upon release.

Update Facebook/Twitter from PlayStation Home

A future update for PlayStation Home will allow developers to include automatic Facebook and Twitter notifications be posted straight from PlayStation Home into the social networking sites, showing high scores, victories and other accomplishments.

As reported on IGN, another possible use for this technology could be on large scale turn-by-turn games, whereby a user gets sent a notification when it is time for their next turn, kind of like a more advanced version of chess by email. The only question is, with so much clutter from MafiaWars and Farmville already filling up people’s Facebook pages, will they want to see any more of it?

Killzone 3 Confirmed

Killzone 2Despite the subtle hint of a third Killzone game left at the end of Killzone 2, we’ve heard preciousl little from Sony or Guerilla Games about the next installment of the franchise. However, that’s all changed with some new comments made by Sony’s Jack Tretton to Game Trailers TV:

“Well, we own Guerrilla Games and they did a great job on Killzone 1 and 2. I don’t know if you’ll see announcements about it, but I can promise you a Killzone 3″.

GT5 Demo Coming Soon?

Rumours abound this morning after a screenshot has started circulating which shows a PS3 XMB with an icon for “GT5 Demo 2010″. Gran Turismo 5 is currrently scheduled for release this year but an exact date has not yet been set for the UK/EU. A downloadable ‘Time Trial Challenge’ for GT5 was released on the PSN store just before Christmas last year but contained just one track and one car (in two guises) and was never intended to be a full demo. Perhaps the appearance of this screenshot indicates that a demo may not be too far away – see for yourself below:

MAG DLC Coming March 25th – For Free!

Massive Action Game, or MAG for short, get its first batch of downloadable goodies arrive next week according to Zipper Interactive, bringing fresh outfits, disorienting grenades and all-new guns! The best news however is that his new DLC is totally free!

Jeremy Dunham from Zipper Interactive has issued a statement about the release:

“On behalf of everyone here at Zipper Interactive, I’m pleased to announce that beginning March 25, our first official MAG downloadable add-on will be made available to players worldwide absolutely free of charge!

Dubbed the “Trooper Gear Pack,” our first DLC addition to the MAG universe will offer a number of cool goodies for veterans and first timers alike. Out of everything in the pack, the most popular will likely be the oft-requested “Flashbang Grenade” that can be used to confuse, disorient or distract your enemies in a single throw.”

The Trooper Gear Pack will be released on March 25, alongside a bonus double XP weekend. Happy shooting!

Super Street Fighter IV Costumes Leaked

For all you street fighter fans out there there’s not long to wait until Super Street Fighter IV is finally released in the UK. Currently scheduled for April 30 here in UK, Super Street Fighter IV is a massively enhanced version of the smash hit Street Fighter IV, released just over a year ago for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360.

Although much of the information surrounding the game has yet to be confirmed, PlayStation Lifestyle has a glimpse of what’s on offer after being sent leaked images of some of the new costumes. Check them out for yourself here.

GTA4 Episodes Delayed by Two Weeks

According to the official Rockstar website, the long-awaited Episodes of Liberty City DLC for Grand Theft Auto IV on PlayStation 3 and PC have been delayed by two weeks. The Episodes were originally planned for release at the end of March but are now getting released on April 16 here in Europe and 13th April in North America.

The reason for the delay is apparently a last minute game submission request from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) to edit some of the in-game Liberty City radio station, television, and internet conent. For more information check out the full news release at Rockstar’s website.

PlayStationPlus.com – Premium PSN Site?

Sony recently registered the domain www.playstationplus.com, giving rise to questions about the exact nature of this website. Could this be the site for the recently rumoured Premium PSN? Often web domains like this are bought by cybersquatters or hoaxers but after doing research, we have confirmed that the domain is actually registered to “Sony Computer Entertainment Inc” .

If this is nothing to do with the Premium PSN, then that begs the question of what it could instead be used for? Of course, it could be just another case of Sony covering themselves incase they want to use the domain for something in the future, but if that’s the case then why now? Perhaps only time will tell. Playstation.Blog Share

Sony US have set up a dedicated website where PlayStation gamers can give their views, opinions and gripes, with the aim of making the PlayStation and PSN a better experience for the end user. You can visit the site to see for yourself here. This begs the question of whether the European side of things will get a similar website at any stage – the SCEE PSN Store is now full of great games and DLC but still missing some key PSOne games that the US Store has had for a while and this is a major gripe of many EU gamers.

So far on the US PlayStation.Blog Share, the majority comments at the moment seam to revolve around cross party chat and whether it should be included in ‘premium’ PSN or as a free update.
