This year’s Eurogamer Expo was held at Earl’s Court in London between 1st and 3rd October, providing three solid days of gaming and developer presentations. There were games from all three current generation consoles, as well as a few PC games like Civilization V around the Career Fair. The full is of games is a long one, but games of note include Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, BRINK, Dead Space 2, Fallout: New Vegas, Gran Turismo 5, inFamous 2, Killzone 3, LittleBigPlanet 2 and Motorstorm: Apocalypse. All the games in the main hall were playable in one form or another.  Some games went even further than just having a console hooked up to a screen; in particular, some of the Gran Turismo 5 units were full-on replica cockpits with steering wheels and pedals.

The Expo itself was a great way for gamers to try out some of the latest and greatest games, with enough consoles present to cut queuing down to a minimum. The venue was very well suited and never felt cramped or sparse, so hopefully next year will see a return to Earl’s Court, or at least a similar venue elsewhere. The only flaw was the silly HMV stall, with offensively priced games and hardware on offer, like £59.99 for PlayStation Move Starter Kit! All the games on offer were absolutely full RRP, which is just ridiculous. With an over-excited captive audience, it would have been a brilliant opportunity to dangle a few offers in front of people and get people buying. Sadly, it didn’t seem like anyone was interested in the slightest.

Overall however, Eurogamer Expo 2010 seemed like a big success. People were gaming, chatting and enjoying themselves. The ‘Developer Sessions’ were a great way to get an inside look at some of the most exciting forthcoming games, and hopefully we’ll see more of this next year. We’ve got some photos for you right here, so if you weren’t fortunate enough to go along then you can at least get a glimpse of what it was like. We’re looking forward to Eurogamer Expo 2011 already!
