Amazon UK Top 10 PS3 Games – 14th February 2010

A quick look at Amazon’s Top 10 best-selling PS3 games this week shows three of the top 10 are actually pre-orders for Heavy RainFinal Fantasy XIII and Aliens Vs Predator. Aside from those, it’s interesting to see how well Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is still doing. Despite record numbers of gamers buying Modern Warfare 2 on release (with 1.23 million sales on day one across all platforms) it’s still clinging to the top spot over three months later; clearly there are still many gamers only just getting started with the game.

Final Fantasy XIII is doing well considering it’s still over three weeks from release – expect a big surge in the week before as the publicity machine kicks in and reviews for the English version start appearing. There are also a surprising number of people buying the original Bioshock game – the publicity for the new sequel is obviously having an effect and there are probably gamers new to the franchise who want to experience the first game before embarking on the second.

As we get closer to the release dates for Heavy Rain, AvP and Final Fantasy XIII it will be interesting to see how their chart positions fare – will Heavy Rain be able to take the top spot from the mighty Modern Warfare 2? And surely God of War III will be making an appearance sooner or later…
